Student leadership at Woodend Primary School is integral to the school. There are many opportunities for students to develop, extend and practise their leadership capabilities. The student leadership team is responsible for a number of important roles throughout the year, including the running of our weekly whole school assembly. All Year 5 students participate in leadership training to prepare them for the responsibilities of leadership in Year 6. Each year the school captains also represent the school at community events like the local ANZAC Day ceremony.
Students from Years 3-6 form the Junior School Council. Two representatives from each class are given the responsibility of reporting their class's vision for the school to the JSC. They also oversee any fundraising initiatives and coordinate lunchtime activities for their peers.
