Student Leadership

Student leadership at Woodend Primary School is integral to the school. There are many opportunities for students to develop, extend and practise their leadership capabilities. The student leadership team is responsible for a number of important roles throughout the year, including the running of our weekly whole school assembly. Each student leadership team attends a GRIP Leadership Conference to prepare them for their responsibilities.  Each year the school captains also attend the local ANZAC Day ceremony and give a reading.

Students from Years 3-6 form the Junior School Council. Two representatives from each class are given the responsibility of reporting their class's vision for the school to the JSC. They also oversee any fundraising initiatives and coordinate lunchtime activities for their peers.

Year 6 students also have the opportunity to fulfill numerous leadership roles such as:

Buddy Leaders, PLAY Leaders, Sports Leaders, Environmental Leaders, Wellbeing Leaders and House Captains.
